A summer kick-off

Last weekend we went to a summer celebration that a few local businesses sponsored. Honestly I thought it would be a bit cheesey since it was free. The flier that came home from school said balloon animals, face painting, food, music, and games. All FREE!
Since I love that word I decided to take the kids and check it out. Katelyn and Connor thought it would be a bit boring so I had to basically force them to go.
I am so glad I did! They were so glad I did! It was great!

The clown doing the balloon animals was AMAZING with her creations! I couldn't believe the things she was creating out of balloons. Katelyn and Connor both got frogs, of course and Maggie got a poodle looking dog.

The girls both had their faces painted and I was blown away with the talent that the two women had!

Ben just hung out watching his sisters and brother playing games and all the other fun stuff. He was still not feeling too well from his surgery so he was pretty content in the stroller which is not like him at all.

It cracked me up to watch him "hanging out" with his foot up!

They also had free food so we all had lunch there. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, and cookies. Not overly healthy but fun.

And this is the reaction I got from Katelyn when we got home and found out that we had friends coming over to spend the afternoon at the pool and then have dinner with!

It was a great kick-off to summer kind of day!
