The perfect rain

The kids absolutely LOVE playing in the rain. I wish there were more opportunities for them to do it.
Today it was warm enough.

And there was no thunder or lightening.

So when Connor got all excited and asked if they could play in the rain I said absolutely!

They had a blast and I am glad for the perfect rain to play in.

My monkeys...

Today we went to get Ben's almost 18 month pictures done. I decided to have the other three get into a couple to see if we could get a couple of them all since it had been a year since I had them all.
Not bad, although I would have preferred Connor had something else on.

Look at this big boy!
This picture explains him PERFECTLY! He is such a ball kid.

My monkeys...

Boy, do I love 'em all!

self portraits

I am not sure if anyone realizes this but Maggie is slightly obsessed with taking pictures of herself. Let's just say that it is not rare for me to go to download pictures off my camera and find pictures like this...
And this...

And this....

Well, I have finally figured out where Maggie gets this obsession from. When I downloaded pictures last night off my camera I found this picture of my sister...

And this picture of her....

And then the picture Stephanie took of the two of them....
And this picture she took of the two of them....

These two are, no doubt, cut from the same cloth!

Daddy tosses Ben

Ben really wasn't sure what he thought of the beach. The first day he just whined, fussed, and wanted to be held. He HATED when his feet would sink in the sand.
He got more and more used to it but even though he didn't complain as much after the first day he was so serious. He barely cracked a smile.
Until Daddy did this...

Again and again....

On the last day he actually went into the water and looked like he was enjoying the beach. Hopefully next time we go he will pick up where we left off. Or daddy is going to have some sore arms...

A patriotic cast

We went to see the orthopedic doctor today about Katelyn's wrist.
Katelyn, Mister Dog, Ben and I waited..... and waited, and waited to see the doctor, guess they were behind or something.

When she came in she explained that she actually isn't convinced that it is broken because it is such a small spot. The xray showed "something" but not a clear cut break. However, because of the swelling, and that Katelyn is "feeling pain in all the right places" when the doctor did different things she wants to treat it as though it is broken.
So Katelyn picked out the cast she wanted. Of course being the patriotic person that I am I was thrilled with her choice!
She figures Grammy is going to love the choice she made too, since Grammy loves all things Red/White/and blue.

So for the next two weeks, yep just two weeks, Katelyn will be wearing this patriotic cast. Then we will go back, xray it again, and hopefully see that the "spot" is gone so when we hit the beach at the end of the month we won't have to worry about sand and sea creatures getting into her cast!

oops she did it again

This time she was pogo sticking at a friends house and she fell. I didn't see the fall but knew right away by her reaction that she had a broken bone. I hoped I was wrong and she was just overly nervous because it was the same wrist she broke last year.

We left right away, called Chris to meet us, and drove straight to the ER. Chris stayed with Katelyn while I brought the other monkeys home.

A while later Katelyn called to let me know that she broke her wrist AGAIN. The doctor was really great and even gave her a stuffed dog to take care of. He told her that the dog had broke a leg and if she took good care of him he would take care of her. Very sweet!

So, tomorrow morning we will head to the ortho doctor and she will be sporting a new cast!

Wordless Wednesday
