I celebrated my birthday this past weekend. It's hard to believe that I am 27 years old already. Ok, maybe I am a little older then that but I am sticking to 27!
What a great birthday it was. Weeks before we had planned to go out the Saturday of Columbus day weekend with out knowing what the date was. How exciting that it fell on my birthday!
Chris and I headed off in the early afternoon and came home after mid-night. It has been years since we have done any such thing. Since before Katelyn was born for sure.
First we went for a late lunch/early dinner at a Mexican restaurant, yummy! We had a drink, appetizer and a main meal. We just chatted and relaxed, it was bliss.
Then we went and did a little clothes shopping for Chris. He has lost quite a bit of weight and needed clothes so this was the perfect opportunity.
After that we went to see "Life as we know it" (I think that was what it was called) and it was a great movie. We had popcorn and drinks and completely enjoyed the movie from start to finish. I don't think I have ever seen a movie that can have such major ups and downs like that. One minute we were laughing so hard and the next I was crying. Great movie!
When we left the movies we intended to head home for the night but then Chris mentioned meeting friends at a local restaurant for some drinks. We quickly came home and put the kids to bed, although Nana would have been very capable of doing this we were dropping the truck off any way.
Then Chris and I walked down town. The weather was chilly but beautiful. There were at least a million stars above us! We met friends, had some drinks, and laughed the night away. Then we walked back home enjoying the beautiful night once again.
It was a fabulous day. One where Chris and I were just Chris and I.
We won't wait another decade to do it again, that's for sure!
