We were supposed to have friends over, go out shopping for birthday party supplies, and get some lunch out.
Supposed to. Unfortunately a stomach bug has hit our family and is making its way around. It started the other day with Maggie, hit Connor yesterday, and Katelyn today. So, we had to stay home and take care of our sweet Katelyn who felt really yucky.
But..... We made the best of it! We had lots of fun and did some special things.
Like....
Playing in flour.
However, before washing we did a little painting!
It was tons of fun.
(I didn't feel comfortable putting the pictures of her after she completely painted herself on here though, haha!)
When the kids, and the bathtub, were all washed up we collected lots of pillows and blankets for some pillow jumping!

Maggie was sick the other day when we did it and I promised we would do it again soon.
She loved it!

She helped Ben too!

Here are...
Some live action...
Shots of this birthday girl doing some serious pillow jumping!
Ben changed it up a little today and slid off the end of the bed into the pile.
I got this picture right after he "jumped" and love it!

Katelyn picked out this jewelry box for Maggie and she was so excited to be able to put all her jewelry in it.
After gifts it was cake time! We are having a party tomorrow for her so for tonight it was a mini cake. We had to improvise though because we had no candles. That's on the list to buy in the morning!
Maggie really wanted to cut the cake so I let her have the honors. When I was growing up it was tradition that the birthday boy or girl got to cut the cake so I think it's time for us to carry on that tradition here.
Can you even believe that she is five???? Cutting her own cake??? I can't!
Oh, and this is her new baby alive doll that she has been asking for months for. She forgot to ask Santa though so it made a perfect gift from us for her birthday!

The funny thing is that Katelyn also desperately wanted one of these when she was younger but she never knew that it actually peed and pooped and we never told her. We hid the food and she never figured it out. Maggie, however, knew and that is why she wanted the baby! I told her I have enough diapers to change so she's on her own with these!
