A special bond...A little about ears too...

Seven years and just about 3 months ago I gave birth to my first baby. I was a new mom! Knowing that I was going to be staying home and wanted to meet some other new Moms I decided to join a "New Moms Group" at the hospital where I gave birth. I went for the first time when Katelyn was just three weeks old. I walked into a room filled with new moms whose babies were birth to three months old. Right away I met some wonderful women!
After a couple months of seeing these women once a week we decided to get together at each other's houses. This became a weekly event and we each took turns hosting. After a few weeks there were 9 moms and 9 babies that got together every week. We have watched our children grow, learn, and play together. After a few years three of the women moved away and kids began school. Not to mention siblings were born.
We don't get together very often any more, unfortunately. Life is busy. Families have grown. If all 9 moms got together there would now be 25 kids! However, when we do get together the kids pick up like only a week has gone by since they saw each other. There is a bond... A very special bond between these children who have known each other since they were born. Many of our second, third, fouth and even fifth children were born around the same time, and those children also have a bond.
There is a special bond between us moms who walked into that big room just weeks after giving birth to our first baby.
Just last week 5 of us moms met at a park. There were 14 kids between us!

Here are Cara, Sammy, Allison, Emily, and Katelyn...

This is five of the "original" babies. Max, Sammy, Emily, Katelyn, and Allison. I can't explain to you the bond that is between them! A special bond...
I hope that we all keep in touch, even if it is just a couple times a year...

Now a little about ears too....
Ben had his follow-up test this afternoon. We got some good news and now so good news.
His left ear (the one that has the most problems) was a little better. Last week the negative pressure in it was -120 and this week it was -60. Zero is ideal, over -50 is what leads to permanent damage and language problems. So, we are glad it is better but it is still not where it should be.
The right ear... The negative pressure is almost gone, yay. However, it has traded the problem of negative pressure with fluid. Not good. The audiologist looked in it for me because the doctor's had all gone home for the day. There is a streak of red (not good), but the rest was a pretty pink (good).
So the plan for now... Keep holding off on the antibiotics if we can. Talk to the ENT doctor on Monday and figure out our plan of action. I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed, however, I also wasn't at all suprised...
