Blueberry picking/poison ivy!

This weekend my friend Christina mentioned wanting to go blueberry picking but didn't know if any place was open. I said I knew a place in Milford that was small but the berries are good. I have never picked there but I often stop at their stand to buy berries. Another friend Christine also wanted to go so the three of us and our 12 children met there this morning.
We got all the kids out of the car, babies in wraps and strollers and off to the bushes we went. The kids began happily picking. A women who was picking said to us, "I just want to let you know that there is a lot of poison ivy here. I see that you are all wearing shorts so I just wanted to let you know to be very careful." Oh. My. Goodness. I looked around and it was everywhere! Most of you don't know this but I only have to think about poison ivy and I am covered in the very itchy rash! (Chris is the same way so our kids are doomed too!) Panic set in, we needed to evacuate right away! Hands up, don't touch a thing, walk away now!
Most of the kids were troopers with the news even though they were very excited to be picking. Maggie took it much harder then anyone else and had a complete meltdown. Once everyone was safely away from the terrible poison ivy and buckled in the vans we decided to head to a park down the road.
It turned out that we had fun despite the problem....

Emma, Allison, and Katelyn...(Emma is one of the babies from the original Mom's group group, but she wasn't at the park a couple of weeks ago.)
Tire swings are fun but not easy to get a good picture on!
Then this afternoon the kids played outside for just about the whole day. It was absolutely beautiful out! Katelyn and I even put out a blanket to lay on for her daily "reading time".

I am not one to normally buy something because someone else had it but here is an exception. I saw this dress on a little girl in a blog that I read and fell in love with it. The Mom mentioned where she bought it so I did a search. Since it was after the 4th of July it was on clearance so I got them at a great price. I just love these dresses! The girls look sooooo adorable in them!
My Mom is a big fan of Red, white, and blue so this one's for her!
On a bit of a different note.... We have been finding these in our yard! What is this all about??? It's July!!!
