I was immediately amazed by the difference here then where the kids had their tubes put in. the waiting room was so child friendly. Not that we were in there too long as Ben preferred running up and down the halls. Shocking I know, lol!
Everybody with anything to do with Ben at all spent lots of time talking to Chris and I as well as playing with Ben. He was having a grand time with all the attention!
However, after putting all the pieces of the puzzle together, and a dose of sleepy meds, it was decided that Ben wouldn't have the scope done after all. The gastro doctor who was going to do it was feeling like it would be much better to have Ben at the Children's Hospital for this. There were many reasons, but here are the main reasons.....
*She wants his adenoids taken out by a pediatric ENT up at the CH.
*When Ben went for his tubes the doc was not able to intubate him. This causes some concern and Doctor H wants Ben to be at CH and not at a day surgery place.
*There is a possibility that she will have to dilate his esophagus, this can only be done at the CH.
*She wants to do a scope "up the other end" too.
*She wants allergy testing done at the same time.
*She only wants Ben to have to be put under anaesthesia once and to have everything done at the same time. She felt that if she did go ahead with the scope on Friday he would need another procedure in the near future and she doesn't want to do that to him.
*She feels that he will need a night in the hospital and that is not a possibility in the day surgery center.
I am feeling good about this decision and I believe Chris is too. We will let you know when we find out for sure when this will happen. Most likely it will be Tuesday morning.
Look at the blanket and ducky that they gave him today!

So, since our plans changed we made the best out of the day!
After days of rain we weren't quite sure what the big, bright, yellow thing in the sky was. It took us a bit before we remembered.
The sky is blue and the air is warm. What perfect weather for sure!
On a beautiful day the park is a perfect place to go.
The kids had a great time on the zip line!
And sliding....
Thank you Mother Nature for the beautiful day!
